Job Description

Retirement Unlimited, Inc. (RUI) is the management company of 7, soon to be 9, Assisted Living communities in the state of Virginia. RUI is in search of two Community Accountants who will be responsible for the following for their assigned communities:


  • Oversee and Maintain CER Process for assigned communities.

  • Receive and record accounts payable invoices.

  • Process expense reimbursements from Concur system.

  • Prepare and issue AP checks/EFT payments

  • Record Mortgage payments each month

  • Maintain accrued expense sub ledger.

  • Maintain prepaid expense sub ledger.

  • Prepare journal entries for accruals and amortizations.

  • Upload and post the Excel journal entry batches to general ledger

  • Run Trial Balances, balancing the accounts for close out.

  • Reconcile GL accounts monthly including capital expenditures.

  • Maintain capital asset records and prepare depreciation entries.

  • Prepare and file 1099s annually.

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
  2. Financial analysis and reporting experience preferred.
  3. Working knowledge and ability with all MS Office software.
  4. Working knowledge of Great Plains and PCC preferred.
  5. Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting/finance.
  6. Must possess good critical thinking skills with ability to work independently.
  7. Must be customer service driven, self-motivated and well organized.
