Job Description

*  Provides general oversight to resident heal care needs.

*  Assesses residents conditions during move in and throughout occupancy.

*  Provides information or health topics to residents and staff.

*  Provides hands on care to residents as needed.

*  Schedules resident's appointments as needed.

*  Administers medications to residents and special treatments as required.

*  Supervises duties and resident care of nursing assistants.

*  Communicates with other Department Heads as necessary.

*  Contacts physicians, family members and other medical resources as necessary to ensure care is provided

    as necessary.

*  Documents all pertinent information in resident medical record,

*  Transcribes physician orders and follows through.

*  Monitors an administers medications to residents per physician orders.

*  Gives injections per physician orders..

*  Reports all incidents to the Wellness Director and documents according to company policy.

*  Maintains a working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position.

*  Attends and completes a minimum of 12 hours of in-service training every 12 months.

*  Performs other duties as needed.

Job Requirements

*  Current license by the Virginia Board of Nursing to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse preferably with one

    year nursing experience.

*  Must complete the continued competency requirements for renewal of an active license according to the 

    Virginia Board of Nursing and maintain original documentation of completion.

*  Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.

*  Must be able to exert up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally and exert up to 50 lbs. of force frequently to lift,

    carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.

*  Must be CPR certified.

*  Must be in designated uniform during working hours.

*  Must have strong customer service skills.
