Job Description

1) Maintain a working knowledge of all RUI policies pertaining to this position, the department and the personnel.

2) Implements a varied and innovative Life Enrichment program to enhance the emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual well-being o0f the residents as directed by the Life Enrichment Director or assigned by the Inspiritas Life Enrichment Coordinator.

3) Leads and assists resident activities as requested with minimal supervision while implementing appropriate modifications to assist residents with physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments.

4) Encourages residents to participate in Life Enrichment programs with an upbeat, helpful and positive attitude.

5) Assists residents as necessary when going to and from activities.

6) Organizes, coordinates, and accompanies residents on special outings as necessary.

7) Contributes to Life Enrichment activity/event planning by bringing knowledgeable suggestions or community resources to the attention of the Life Enrichment Director and/or Inspiritas Life Enrichment Coordinator.

8) Assists in advertising/promoting programs by preparing and posting daily notices, posters as required.

9) Arranges chairs, tables and sporting or exercise equipment in specified areas for scheduled group or one-on-one activities.

10) Utilizes Resident Engagement Tracking procedures accurately with minimal assistance.

11) Actively participates in the Community Ambassador program and presents the Oral History to new residents as directed by the Life Enrichment Director or Inspiritas Life Enrichment Coordinator.

12) Takes photographs during activities/events as directed by the Life Enrichment Director without violating HIPAA.

13) Assists with collecting video/photo releases as necessary at all activities/events.

14) Ensures all Life Enrichment areas are maintained in a clean, functional. and orderly fashion.

15) Help maintain equipment as necessary.

16) Drives the community van as needed

17) Attends required in-services and staff meetings.

18) Actively participates in educational opportunities to improve the service delivery to residents with dementia( for Inspiritas only)

19) Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

1) High School Diploma or equivalent and related work experience.

2) Demonstrate fundamental understanding of dementia and related disorders and competency in service delivery to residents (for Inspiritas only)

3) Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing, follow instructions and direction, interact with residents of varying backgrounds and abilities, remain cheerful and calm under stressful situations and work as a team member.

4) Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and exert up to 25 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.

5) Must have the ability to identify community resources.

6) Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and evenings.

7) Must have a safe driving record. A copy of Division of Motor Vehicle Driving Record must be given to Administrator.

8) Must have strong customer service and hospitality skills as it relates to both residents and their families.
