Job Description

The Hidenwood Retirement and Assisted Living Community, Retirement Unlimited Inc., offers great benefit packages including medical, dental, 401K and Life Insurance.

The LED provides primary planning and oversight of the Life Enrichment programming in the community, including Memory Care (Inspiritás) where applicable. He/she develops and organizes an innovative program of activities and special events for the residents of the community in accordance with the company’s objectives for each month and under the programming supervision of the Corporate Director of Life Enrichment. The LED acts as a community liaison by developing an active volunteer program, forming strategic referral relationships, and promoting RUI’s Life Enrichment Values and programming off-site as requested.

 
Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develops and maintains a working knowledge of all RUI policies and procedures pertaining to the position, the department, and the personnel.
  • Develops and implements a varied and innovative Life Enrichment program to enhance the emotional, social, physical, spiritual, and intellectual well-being of the residents. 
  • Organizes, coordinates, and accompanies residents on special outings as necessary.
  • Utilizes Resident Engagement Tracking procedures, trains Life Enrichment staff for effective and consistent use, and reports to Corporate Director of Life Enrichment as requested.
  • Recruits, interviews, and supervises all Life Enrichment Assistants and Life Enrichment Coordinator.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS

  • A college background is preferred, however, high school diploma or equivalent with related work experience is required.
  • Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing, follow instructions and direction, interact with residents of varying backgrounds and abilities, remain cheerful and calm under stressful situations, and work as a team member.
  • Must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and exert up to 25 lbs. of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and evenings. 
  • Must have safe driving record. A copy of Division of Motor Vehicle Driving Record must be given to the Administrator.
  • Preferably should have, or be eligible for, a Virginia Commercial Driver’s License.
  • Must have strong customer service and hospitality skills as it relates to both residents and their families.
